I am an Fbusers member and I play FFXIV. I find buy FFXIV Gil is more fun. I will share with my experience of FFXIV and tell you that is the best "ultimate fantasy" game.
If you ask a thousand final fantasy players to rank the Games in order, you will get a thousand different answers.
However, to a large extent, this is related to your birth.
Nostalgia is a powerful force. We tend to fall in love with what we enjoy in childhood and adolescence, because it's a time of change when all of us are psychologically involved in something comforting and familiar. That's why parents don't tend to understand their children's music, but rather want them to listen to "real" music, as they annoy their parents.
For example, I was born in 1981. Six years later, in 1987, I released my first final fantasy. Since I live in the United States (as opposed to Japan), I have never had the chance to play a 2 -, 3 -, or 5-year-old game. When I was 10 and 13, four and six were released in 1991 and 1994, respectively. 7 was released in 1997, but I never owned Playstation, so I didn't play Playstation (or 8) until 2000, when I was in college and didn't buy a PS2.
So, can you guess what my favorite game, final fantasy, is?
Yes, ff4 and FF6 (I prefer FF6).
Now, some ultimate fantasy games are generally better than others in objective terms. They are 4, 6, 7, 9 and 10, respectively. If you ask someone what they like best and they give one of them as an answer, it almost certainly means they are in their 30s or 20s. Similarly, if someone says 15 is their favorite, then they are likely to be a teenager who likes shining and new things. If someone says 1 is their favorite, it means they are old foggy and nostalgic.
Other games are considered "unique," with strange mechanisms or alternative play. They are 3, 5, 8 and 12, respectively. If someone lists them as their favorite, then they are one of the monsters who prefer the unique mechanism of a particular game. Their favorite movie may not be the best final fantasy, but it's the best for them.
Then there are 11 and 14 MMOs. If this is someone's favorite, they will like MMO. Again, people who like more than 11 o'clock may be an old man who likes the false factor that the boss fights for more than 10 hours.
If someone tells you that FF2 or FF13 is their favorite, then they are cheating you.
To make a long story short, the average price of the "best" final fantasy game is FF6, FF7 or ff10, depending on the age of the person you ask and the console they have.
